Hanga Roa has several options for lodging. The most common is the "residencial," also known as a guest house. If you book in advance, the owners of the guest houses will greet you at the airport and take you to your accommodations. The proprietors are typically incredibly friendly, and are more than happy to offer suggestions as to where you can shop, dine, or go exploring.

There is truly only one resort on the island, as most "hotels" on Easter Island tend to be very similar to the guest houses. The main difference is that the hotels typically have restaurants where you can eat breakfast, dinner, or both. Be sure to ask about what's included in your room rate.

If you want to pitch a tent to save a little bit of money, the campground at Anakena beach is the only public place to do so. You'll need to bring all of the food and water that you'll need as there are no facilities. Some of the guest houses may allow you to set up your tent on their lawn in Hanga Roa for a small fee.
